Stamp Duty Calculator — Haryana
Calculate stamp duty and registration in Haryana with urban and rural rates for Gurugram and Faridabad, and the concession for women buyers.
Haryana charges different stamp duty inside and outside municipal limits, and offers women a 2% concession. In urban areas — which includes Gurugram, Faridabad, Panchkula and Sonipat — men pay 7% and women 5%. In rural areas the rates drop to 5% and 3%.
Registration is capped at ₹50,000, which matters on the high-value transactions common in Gurugram: above roughly ₹50 lakh the registration charge stops rising.
Haryana rates
| Location | Male | Female | Joint |
|---|---|---|---|
| Urban (municipal limits) | 7% | 5% | 6% |
| Rural | 5% | 3% | 4% |
Registration is 1% of value subject to a maximum of ₹50,000.
A worked example
A ₹1.2 crore apartment in Gurugram in a woman's name: duty at 5% = ₹6,00,000, registration capped at ₹50,000 — ₹6,50,000. In a man's name, ₹8,40,000 + ₹50,000 = ₹8,90,000. Buying in a woman's name saves ₹2,40,000.
Collector rate
Haryana's circle rate equivalent is the collector rate, notified district by district and revised periodically. Duty applies to the higher of collector rate and agreement value, and Gurugram's collector rates differ sharply between sectors.
Confirm current rates on the Haryana Jamabandi portal, which also lists collector rates by district and sector.
